A downtown Boise floor can look like a normal Tuesday on the badge report and still empty the hopper by 10 a.m. The difference is the air. On smoke days people skip the Greenbelt lunch walk. They skip the patio. They stay on the floor and drink. Hybrid headcount notes from a clear week will not save that pantry.

We already write about split Treasure Valley workdays elsewhere. This is the indoor-week problem. Meridian and Eagle campuses feel it when the inversion sits. Downtown towers feel it when the garage still looks full and nobody leaves.

Treat AQI as a restock trigger

If the office publishes a “stay inside” note, the coffee owner should assume a heavier morning and a heavier midmorning. Cold brew still matters in heat. Smoke weeks add hot drinks from people who would have left the building. Count cups by hour on the first smoke day. Do not wait for the weekly average.

Our visits are weekly or biweekly. A smoke stretch can burn a two-day buffer in one morning. Say so before the truck is already on I-84.

Do not size the trial on a clear-air week only

A free two-week trial should include at least one indoor-heavy day if late summer smoke is likely. Skip using a trailhead-empty Friday as the model for September. The two-week trial FAQ explains what week one should log. Add outdoor-air notes next to cup counts.

Downtown garage heat cooking product in a closet is a different Boise story. Here the product is being used. The station is doing its job. The calendar is wrong.

Keep milk rotation honest when people stay in

Opened cartons die faster when the fridge door never rests. Assign one person to date and rotate. Smoke weeks are not the week to let personal leftovers own the shelf. Fresh milk drinks are part of the program. A warm, crowded fridge undoes the extra cups.

The break room readiness quiz is a useful score before a trial if facilities already knows which weeks people refuse to go outside.

What we need on the call

Whether the floor issued a stay-inside note, yesterday’s busiest hour, and remaining beans and milk. Mention Meridian versus downtown if the account spans both. Those two buildings do not empty on the same clock.
